Park Hill District Semifinal

William Jewell was the host of the Class 5 District 8 semifinal game. The Jays got on the board early with a 2 run home run from Sierra Persinger. That held up until the 5th inning. The Trojans cashed in on a couple Blue Jay mistakes to tie the game 2-2. Sofie Bock threw out a runner at the plate on a squeeze in the 5th to preserve the tie game. In the bottom of the 5th it was Bock with a clutch 2 out RBI single to give the Jays a 3-2 lead. Cabuyaban would close it out retiring the final 6 batters of the inning and the Jays advanced to the Class 5 District 8 Championship game on Monday! Liberty is now 21-13 on the season.

NKC

The Jays opened District play with a convincing 12-2 win over North Kansas City. Ana Mondello and Enslie Dryer pitched with the victory going to Mondello. With this win, the Jays pick up win number 20 on the year and move on to the next round.

The Jays hosted the Panthers from Park Hill South in the second to last regular season game of the year. Josselyn Frey and Ana Mondello were solid in the circle for the Jays but the Jays were cold at the plate all day long and would drop this game 3-2. Liberty is now 8-1 in conference play and 18-13 overall.

After playing 5 tough games in the heat over the weekend, there was no rest for the Jays. They traveled to Staley to take on the Falcons to start the last week of regular season play. The Jays got off to a quick start with a 2 RBI double from Malia Cabuyaban and a 2 run home run from Sofie Bock to take a 4-0 lead. The Falcons would strike back only to see the Jays answer and lead 5-3 through 3 innings. In the 4th, the Jays rallied for 4 more runs with an RBI single from Cabuyaban an RBI double from Bock and a 2 run single from Blodgett. Staley would answer back with 3 more in the 5th but that would be all they would get as the Jays would slam the door and win 9-6. This win guaranteed at least a share of the Conference Championship for the Jays for the first time since 2018. Liberty is now 8-0 in conference and 18-12 overall.

Springfield Invitational

Pool play started on Friday with the Jays taking on Glendale and Nixa. Glendale was up first and the Jays used a big first inning to jump out to a 6-0 lead. That would prove to be enough for Liberty as they would win the game 10-4. Josselyn Frey earned the win in the circle pitching well all game long.. It was Malia Cabuyaban's turn in game two and she was dominant in the circle earning the win striking out 12. It was the longball that helped the Jays as Charlotte Garrison hit a solo home run and Malia Cabuyaban added insurance with a 2 run home run and the Jays would win 3-0 over Nixa. The Jays are now 15-11 on the season and advance to the Champions Bracket for Saturday.

Lee's Summit North

The Jays returned to conference play with a trip to take on the Broncos. They jumped out to a commanding lead 9-1 led by 2 home runs by Sierra Persinger. The Broncos clawed back in but the Jays would hang on for a 9-7 win. The Jays are now 7-0 in conference play and

Liberty North

The Jays hosted their rivals from across town and as per usual, the intensity and play in this game did not disappoint. The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first but the Jays battled back in the 3rd on a 2 RBI double from Sierra Persinger to tie it up. The Eagles took advantage of some miscues in the field and combined with some timely hitting to take a 5-2 lead. The Jays would battle back to get 1 but couldn't get the big hit down the stretch and ultimately fell to the Eagles 5-3. The Jays are now 11-8 on the season.

The Jays only play one conference game this week and that came Monday night at home against the Trojans from Park Hill. The Jays struck first with a 2 RBI single from Josselyn Frey to take a 2-0 lead. The Jays would add 2 more on an RBI triple from Charlotte Garrison and an RBI single from MJ Blodgett. Park Hill would come back with 2 to cut the lead in half. Malia Cabuyaban added an RBI single to extend the lead to 5-2. Once again Park Hill would answer with 2 runs to cut the Jays lead to 5-4. The Jays pitching and defense would close out the last couple of innings to take the game 5-4. Malia Cabuyaban earned the win in the circle, pitching 7 innings and striking out 11. The Jays are now 11-7 overall and 6-0 in conference play.

Park Hill South

The Jays were in action for a third straight day as they traveled to Park Hill South. The Jays struck first with an RBI double from MJ Blodgett. Liberty would tack on two more on Sierra Persinger's 2 run home run and would add a 4th run on an RBI hit from Blodgett. Malia Cabuyaban was dominant in the circle pitching a complete game allowing only 1 run and striking out 15. Liberty is now winners of 5 straight games and are 10-7 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

The Jays scored early and often and controlled the game the entire time against the Broncos. They would earn the 10-0 win in 5 innings. Cabuyaban earned the win and the Jays are now 9-7 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

Staley

The Jays hosted the Lady Falcons from Staley for another conference game. Charlotte Garrison started the scoring with a triple and would be driven home on a sacrifice fly by MJ Blodgett. Staley would take a 4-1 lead by taking advantage of some Blue Jay miscues in the field. The Jays would bounce right back with 4 runs of their own to take a 5-4 lead with big hits from Sierra Persinger and Malia Cabuyaban. The Jays would tack on a few more insurance runs and would win 10-5. Malia Cabuyaban got the win striking out 8. The Jays are now 8-7 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
