Game 12

The Jays traveled north to St. Joe to take on Central.  The Jays struck early but the Indians were able to take advantage of mistakes in the middle innings to take a lead.  The Jays tried to battle back, but would come up short.  The record moves to 5-2 in conference and 9-3 overall.  Up next for the Jays is the September Slam to be played at home!

Game 13

In the first game of the September Slam, the Jays took on the Indians of Fort Osage.  The Jays used a 5 run first inning to jump on top and would never look back.  The Jays got help from Freshman Marra Cramer who hit her first career Blue Jay home run in the game.  Joslyn Thieme was solid in the circle and the Jays cruised to a 10-0 victory.  The record for the year improved to 10-3.

Game 14

In the second game of pool play, the Jays took on Pleasant Hill.  This game was an offensive explosion for each team! The first two innings saw each team with big innings and it was a close game.  The Jays used a big explosion

The Jays suffered their first conference loss of the season, 7-0 to Staley. The game was 0-0 thru 3 innings, then Staley got on the board with 1. After that, the Jays committed several errors and could not recover. Next up is a road trip to St. Joe Thursday.

The Jays traveled up the road for a cross-town match with the Eagles of Liberty North.  It was a great start for the Jays as they scored 4 in the top of the 1st.  Freshmen Sydney Malott hit a big 3-run home run for the highlight in the inning.  The Eagles countered with 5 in the bottom half of inning 1 and the Jays were trailing 5-4.  The Jays were able to tie it up with 1 in the 2nd.  A 3 run 3rd put the Jays back on top for good.  They would finish the game with a 12-6 victory.  Brooke Niemeier pitched 6 plus innings to record the win.  The Jays improved to 9-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference play.  Next up is a tough home game against Staley on Monday.

The Jays traveled to Adair Park to take on a very good Truman Patriots team.  Jays took the early lead in the first on a Brooke Niemeier single up the middle to make the score 1-0.   A couple of innings later, Sydney Mallot came up with two runners on and two outs and delivered a 2 RBI double to deep left center to make the score 3-0.  Truman would get one back to make it 3-1 but the Jays would add 2 more in the 7th on a single from Raeli Howerton.  Brooke Niemeier would finish what she started in the 7th and the Jays would get the win 5-1.  Niemeier pitched 7 innings striking out 9 and surrendering 5 hits.  The Jays improve to 8-1 on the year and 4-0 in conference play.  Up next is a tough game with cross-town rivals Liberty North on Thursday.

Game 8
The Jays took on a good Park Hill South team and were able to come out on top 4-1.  The bottom of the first was productive for the Jays as they plated 2 runs and jumped to the early lead. Kelsee Mortimer and Raeli Howerton had the scoring hits in the first.  The Panthers would get an unearned run in the 3rd to cut the deficit in half.  Brooke Niemeier would make it a 3-1 game with a single in the 4th.  The bottom of the 5th saw nifty base running from Amayiah Hall lead to a 4th tally for the Jays.  Joslyn Thieme closed out the rest of the game and the Jays would win 4-1.  Joslyn threw 7 innings striking out 10 and only allowing 2 hits.  The Jays move to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play.  Up next is a tough trip to Adair Park to take on a very good Truman team.

Game 7:
The Jays traveled to Lee's Summit for their first road conference game of the year.  The Jays got a 2 RBI double from Kelsee Mortimer to take a 2-0 lead.  The third inning was a big inning for the Jays as they put up a 5 spot to push the lead to 7-1.  The Tigers came back with 2 in the bottom of the 3rd, and the Jays responded by putting up an 8 spot in the 4th.  The highlights of that inning were a pair of 3-run home runs by Kaylee Parker and Joslyn Thieme.  The Jays would use those big innings to cruise to a 15-3 victory.  Brooke Niemeier was the winner in the circle and the entire lineup 1-9 had a good day at the plate.  The Jays improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in conference.

Game 6:
The Jays opened up their home and conference schedule by hosting the Indians of St. Joe Central.  The Jays struck early with 4 in the first.  A 2 RBI triple from Kelsee Mortimer and RBI single by Brooke Niemeier gave the Jays a 4-0 lead after 1 inning. In the 6th, Marra Cramer tacked on 2 more with a 2 RBI single to give the Jays a 6-0 lead.  That is all the offense Joslyn Thieme would need as she would pitch 7 shutout innings for win.  She struck out 8 in the game.  The Jays took the game 6-0.  They move to 5-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play.

Game Five
In the 5th place game of the Greater Kansas City Invitational, the Jays battled the Broncos of Lee's Summit North.  This was a great softball game.  The Broncos struck first with a single run in inning number 1.  The Jays would strike back with 1 in the second and the game would remain tied 1-1 through 6 innings.  In the top of the 7th, the Jays broke through with 4 runs.  The inning started with a double from Raeli Howerton and a single from Sydney Mallot.  Shayne Anspaugh reached with a bunt single to load the bases.  Sophomore Amayiah Hall smashed a 2 RBI single to give the Jays the lead.  The Jays would tack on 2 more on a 2 RBI single from Joslyn Thieme.  Brooke Niemeier would close out the game in the bottom half and the Jays won 5-1.  Brooke pitched 7 innings and struck out 6 Broncos.  The Jays finish the week 4-1!
