The Jays traveled to take on the Panthers in the last regular season game.  Both pitchers were locked in early, but the Jays were able to break through putting up a 5 spot in the 3rd inning.  That would prove to be enough as the Jays would cruise to a 13-2 victory.  Olivia Branstetter and Marra Cramer each had 2 run home runs to lead the offense.  Lauren Slocum pitched a complete game striking out 4.  The Jays finish the conference schedule 7-6 and the regular season 19-8 overall.

Next week the Jays will be competing in the Class 5 District 8 Playoffs at Creekside Complex.

Due to Covid, the Jays were unable to travel to Springfield last year, so this trip was even more special! We enjoyed time together as a team and had the privilege of taking many players who had never been with us before! We played wiffle ball, ate great food, and just enjoyed spending time together!  To make it all even better, we played great softball.

Pool play saw us match up against Nixa and Camdenton.  In game one against Nixa, Lauren Slocum got the scoring going with a 2 RBI single.  The Jays then used a big 3rd inning to extend the lead to 5-0.  Eventually, the Jays would come out on top 6-0.  Lauren Slocum pitched a complete game shut out and struck out 5.  Sydney Malott went 4-4 and drove in 2 runs.  Game 2 was all Jays and they won 12-3 over Camdenton.  Marra Cramer and MJ Blodgett combined to do the work in the circle and Marra Cramer added her 4th home run on the season.

Rain would cut the tournament short, but not before the Jays defeated Willard 5-0.  Marra Cramer

It was a beautiful weekend for the September Slam! The Jays played 3 pool games Friday going 2-1.  They defeated Boonville 14-6 and Fort Osage 4-3.  They dropped a tough one 2-1 to Troy Buchanan.  The Jays earned a spot in the Championship Bracket for Saturday.

The semifinal game saw the Jays take on Grain Valley for the second time this season.  Grain Valley jumped out to a 6-0 lead.  The Jays began to chip away in the 3rd.  Liberty would tie it in the 5th and take the lead in the 6th and go on to win the game 8-6! The championship game saw the two host schools duke it out.  It was all Liberty North and the Jays finished the weekend 3-2 and second place in the September Slam!

Lauren Slocum was excellent in the circle on the weekend earning 1 win and 1 save.  MJ Blodgett made her debut and earned a win against Fort Osage and Marra Cramer earned the win against Boonville.  Sierra Persinger hit 4 home runs on the weekend to take over the team lead with 5.  Marra Cramer and Olivia Branstetter

Not much went well for the Jays in this one.  The offense had trouble getting going and the defense wasn't as sharp as usual, and a good Jaguar team took advantage of their opportunities.  The Jays are now 2-3 in conference play and 8-3 overall.

Lee's Summit West

The third game of this week saw the Titans travel to LHS.  The Jays struck first with 2 in the first on a single from Sydney Malott.  On this day, that would be enough for the Jays.  They would go on to tally 8 more and would go on to win 10-0.  Lauren Slocum pitched a gem as she pitched all 6 innings and struck out 6 for the win.  The Jays are now 3-3 in conference play and 9-3 overall.

The Jays hosted the Panthers for a conference game on Tuesday.  The Jays struck first with 2 in the first with RBIs from Sydney Malott and Olivia Branstetter.  The Jays would tack on 2 more in the 2nd to make it a 4-0 lead.  The Jays would tack on 1 more in the 3rd and that would be enough as they would

The Wildcats from Blue Springs made a visit to LHS on Monday.  It was a pitcher's duel from the start with both pitchers looking sharp early and continuing to be sharp throughout.  The Jays would be fortunate enough to scratch across 2 runs.  Marra Cramer and Olivia Branstetter each had triples in the game.  Sierra Persinger would pick off a runner for the last out of the game and the Jays earned a hard fought 2-0 victory.  Lauren Slocum pitched a complete game shutout allowing two hits and striking out 6. Liberty is now 2-2 in conference play and 8-2 overall.

The second game of the conference schedule was already a rematch between the Jays and the Broncos of LSN.  The Broncos struck first with 2 in the 1st and 2 more in the 3rd to take a 4-0 lead.  The Jays would get 1 back in the 3rd with some nifty base running to cut the deficit to 4-1.  The Broncos added 1 more in the 4th to take a 5-1 lead.  The 5th inning is where it all turned around for the Jays. With 2 outs and nobody on, Marra Cramer singled. Sydney Malott followed that with a single. Hannah Green followed that with an RBI single. Olivia Branstetter followed with an RBI single and the big hit was delivered by Sierra Persinger who had a 2 RBI double to tie the game!

Lauren Slocum got the Jays through the first 5 innings. Malia Cabuyaban would take over in the 6th. She would go on to complete 3 hittless, scoreless innings striking out 3. The bottom of the 8th saw the Jays load the bases on a HBP and two intentional walks. Hannah Green delivered the walkoff single and the Jays completed

The Jays opened up conference play with a road game at Lee's Summit North.  Liberty struck first in the first with a triple by Marra Cramer and an RBI double by Sydney Malott.  That would be all the offense the Jays would get on this day.  Freshman Malia Cabuyaban was solid in the circle but the Broncos capitalized on the few opportunities they had to scratch across 3 runs. The Jays dropped this one 3-1.  The Jays are now 0-1 in conference play and 5-1 overall.

After three weeks of practice, the Jays were ready to play in the opening tournament of the 2021 season.  Adair Park was the scene for all the games.  In pool play, the Jays defeated Belton 12-0 behind a home run by Sierra Persinger and strong pitching from Lauren Slocum.  Slocum struck out 7 and threw a 5 inning no-hitter!  The second game of pool play saw the Jays defeat St. Joe Lafayette 13-2.  Sydney Malott hit a 3 run home run to spark the offense and Malia Cabuyaban was solid in the circle.  She allowed only 2 hits while striking out 9 in her varsity debut. The two wins set up the Jays for the Gold Bracket on Saturday.

The first game of Bracket play saw the Jays take care of Kearney 13-1.  Laruen Slocum was solid in the circle and Marra Cramer provided a 3 run home run.  A tough Grain Valley team awaited the Jays in the semi finals and they took care of business 6-3.  Another home run for Marra Cramer in addition to a 2 RBI triple led the Jays offensively.  Malia Cabuyaban was
