The second game of the conference schedule was already a rematch between the Jays and the Broncos of LSN. The Broncos struck first with 2 in the 1st and 2 more in the 3rd to take a 4-0 lead. The Jays would get 1 back in the 3rd with some nifty base running to cut the deficit to 4-1. The Broncos added 1 more in the 4th to take a 5-1 lead. The 5th inning is where it all turned around for the Jays. With 2 outs and nobody on, Marra Cramer singled. Sydney Malott followed that with a single. Hannah Green followed that with an RBI single. Olivia Branstetter followed with an RBI single and the big hit was delivered by Sierra Persinger who had a 2 RBI double to tie the game!
Lauren Slocum got the Jays through the first 5 innings. Malia Cabuyaban would take over in the 6th. She would go on to complete 3 hittless, scoreless innings striking out 3. The bottom of the 8th saw the Jays load the bases on a HBP and two intentional walks. Hannah Green delivered the walkoff single and the Jays completed the comeback and won 6-5!! The Jays are now 1-1 in Conference Play and 6-1 overall. Next up for the Jays is a trip to Liberty North on Thursday.
